Today I’m going to show you how to rig a 3D model for… well anything!
In this tutorial series you will learn a good way to rig a bipedal (Human) character. Stepping through the joint creation process through to the creation of IK an supporting animation helpers and set driven keys! This tutorial will also show you how to paint skin weight for deformation!!
In Part One we went over setting up bones and ik’s along with prepping a model for rigging and animation! Notice we do this very quickly because dilly dally is fo’ silly sally.

Hi man, great tutorial. I cant move the actual skeleton however, the pelvis pivot seems to be stuck. I forgot to freeze transformations, do you think this is the issue?
PART 2!
Display > Animation > Joint Size. Helps alot with adjusting the size to your character and
Display > WireframeColor. Helps a ton to see what your doing!
where is part 2 ? plz give d link…..
Have you ever thought of slowing down while working?
You know…… I'm beginning….. to suspect….. that when he says "cluck"…. that stands for another word…..
I feel like I got blue balled. This was actually very helpful and followed each step of the way with my own model.
PART 2?!?!? Please make it please!
Does anyone else think he sounds like Domics.. X3
Part 2?
Oh no, his channel is a chaos and the part 2 of this video seems swallowed
WHERE'S PART 2??????????????????????
Hello There!
Your Sound was not clear you was faster in speaking
I was not able to make out everything you just said
Where is part two?
That was nice, without letting me sleep or being bored, thanks :), what about part2 and 3 ? I like to see putting controls also, I mean a whole rig 🙂
How did you parent the clavicle? I've watched this video three times over trying to see how you did it but I can't tell. I tried doing it for myself but every time I try it always un-parents other things.
Fantastic video, although the video is 16 minute long it feels fasts and it doesn't feel like the video drags on. It is funny and informative which is very nice especially comparing to other youtube videos which takes over 40 minute just to explain some stuff and even then they miss out a lot of key information.
Most important ………. I like your style of video and I ACTUALLY understand it!
you can see them poking out like little errmmm never mind lool
i notice this model have triangle and is it ok to rig a model like this ? thus topology really matters in rigging… ?
I give this tutorial five bags of popcorn two sodas.
you're funny ^^
Why are my bones looking like this

they are so big and interfere with the mesh.so its really difficult to see what i am doing :/
Every body buy Maya while you can.
2016 they're going to make a it a subscription based software only. That means you have pay to use it from now on.
I just cant get interested in Maya, I see what the industry does but realistically to me C4D is 1000x what this boring thing will ever be. In Maxon I rigged a model Just like this in under 5 min. I am always looking for a better way so please if anyone could show me the benefits of using maya let me know.
Dude can't find the second part, have you done it yet?
mine is not in wireframe
ight, this is great and all but how do you keep the balls in a uniform rotation z,y,x, 0,0,0
where did you get the model? I know you said it but having a hard time making it out exactly
I fineshed rigging this deadpool but it very hard for me to skin as I am still studying .. can I get any help for skinning
Small tip. If your placing in-between joints like in the forearm for help avoid pinching mesh with twist, if you don't place the joint exactly in a straight line between the elbow and wrist it will look like crap. After placing the elbow joint, hold the shift key and place the mid joint and wrist joint approximately based on arm length, then rotate the bones into place at the elbow to keep the bones in a straight line.
So, where's part 2?
NOOO! Where's part 2?? God damn i was learning so much!! I really wanted to know how to skin the bones to the mesh afterwards… Oh man i learned so many things i needed to know. Thanks . Would really really appreciate it if you could make a part two where you skin the bones to the mesh.
