So I looked into shapekeys (and found your vid), but this is just causing a linear transform from each verts position, directly to it's new pos in the shape. So my book looks as if it's cover is sliding through itself. It's trippy and would fit right in with an Alice-In-Wonderland-style animation or a Twilight episode, but it's not what I am looking for. 😛
How do I animate an object along a curved path, and interpolate between the keyframes?

What if I need to animate an object using a control curve? I am trying to animate a book (well…a leather portfolio) and I "open" it using a bezier curve. Problem is that blender won't let me directly (from what I can tell) animate different stages as an object is modified with the curve.
