This Element 3D V2 Maya tutorial also covers creating animation using the Auxiliary channels in Element 3D, in order to animate the position scale, and rotation of parts of a 3D object separately.

HELP! I was following your steps and it was all alright but when I exit Element 3D, my object in AE is 2D! I can't move and rotate my object like you do, to me it's a flat image. I imported Element 3D on a Solid layer, is that a problem? Do you know what I should do to have my 3D object in After Effects? :/
I hope there's a better workflow than applying different material to each piece soon. Keyshot has created a workflow where you just hit the Keyshot button to send the model with separate parts intact to Keyshot. Why Autodesk and Adobe haven't figured that out, I don't know.
Hi man nice tutorial, My model isn't looking smooth in Element 3D. I already tried to use the Edge treshold and Auto normals in Element 3D and to upsize the subdivision level. Still not looking how it was in Maya. Can you help me. In this llink you can see what I've tried. http://www.videocopilot.net/docs/element/importing_3d_objects_into_element_3d/3d_object_troubleshooting/
