According to the docker documentation, docker-machine is not required with Mac Docker v1.12. I've been able to run all of Peter's docker tutorials directly in the Mac shell without machine. If you have an older machine, please refer to the documentation. If there are other reasons to use DM, please reply below. Link: https://docs.docker.com/machine/overview/#what-is-docker-machine
