Daryl shares some early work in progress on the VR experience he’s creating. After getting the first rough model of his reality captured environment into Maya and adding in some test motion graphics, he uses the VR-plugin from moculus.io to get Maya’s Viewport 2.0 to show up in the Vive. 1. The trial version won't launch for me on several different computers but all Admin on Win7pro. I'm recieving the following error.

    # Error: Unable to dynamically load : C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2016.5/bin/plug-ins/VR-Plugin2016Extension2.mll
The specified module could not be found.

I get this error on a fresh install of any Maya and on a Quadro 5000 card and an Geforce 780 card. When investigating what drivers it's looking for, I see about a dozen in the win32 folder that it's dependent on but neither an update to the card's driver or a windows update helps resolve these drivers. Anybody have any ideas or have solved this problem?

  2. I just wanted to quire whether we can import the Jaunt recorded footage into the maya stereo cameras through any plugin and watch them with the same stereo depth inside maya interface as seen in the oculus rift or vive.

  3. Im looking for a way to record camera moves. Id love to be able to open a model Ive made and use the VIVE as a virtual camera like James Cameron uses when making Avatar as an example. Do you know if I can do that with this?

  4. If i'm not mistaken you can use SteamVR to show your full desktop on VR, whatever your opened application on your desktop. Just press menu button on VIVE controller to access it. You can switch between SteamVR Desktop menu or Full PC Desktop.
If you use Stingray to deploy to .exe and run it with SteamVR then it only showed your .exe content

  5. The moculus VR plugin has been a huge timesaver for us. A must-have for anyone creating VR content with Maya. Saves you from jumping into a game engine every time you want to review a change. Can't say enough good stuff – it's as crucial as live-HMD preview while editing 360 video. Looking forward to the interview with Jon Tojek!

  6. Btw, for future videos with the Vive, in the 'SteamVR Status' window if you click on 'SteamVR ▼'you can click 'Display Mirror' to get a universal headset mirror window so you don't have to put your camera up to your headset!
