  1. Cheers for this one Ed! It’s something I’ve been wanting to learn along with beat matching for video purpose and advertising. Appreciate everyone has proffered software to use so your opinions more than valid and I can now start delivering slideshows to future brides 🙌🏻 thanks ma man!

  2. Great video, I give you an A on demonstration and knowledge, totally agree with you, Lightroom is not the best software for slideshow demonstration, the background should truly be the first application in the tool bar, and apple really does make the best software for slideshows. Adobe receives an A not an A+

  3. Even though I have large images, lightroom displays them as tiny pictures on my 27" iMac. I have no idea why they went tiny when in the other modules they can be displayed very large. So I can't use it.

  4. 1) did that say Clearly Ed or was it clear lyed ?
    2) why is there a macbook power brick wedged in your imac ?
    3) thanks for being so brave & honest & telling it like it is !
    4) you mentioned apple as an alternative. apple what ? Granny Smiths, cox's pippin ? Give us a clue what do you use ?
    5) never done slideshows, but on you tube looking how to do my first, it's in lightroom, I subscribe to CC, so I've got it, might be a bit mixed up, but seems to work OK to me.
Good rant, good vid, thnx, makes a change someone to pull it to pieces instead of brown nosing it…

  5. WHY are there so many views? This video isn't even thorough. He harps over thoughts and opinions on the Adobe product and goes on and on about his favorite features, then just skips over parts he doesn't know about. Sweet tutorial bro. naaaht.

  6. Regarding text overlays, there is an ABC button in the bar below the image (at least in Lightroom 3) where you can select where it will pull the text (caption, title, equipment, or custom text). I have used it to display names of birds in the images of birds. Hope this helps someone.

  7. Correct. Pretty tough to work with, perhaps in the future. I noticed also…you can't REORDER your photos, so needs to be done before IMPORT. Unless you've found another way. But thank you. Very helpful.

  8. This is an excellent video, and I'm glad you pointed out the disappointments in Lightroom. I was hoping to use it for the "Ken Burns Effect" but the pan and zoom option is extremely disappointing as well, as I couldn't find a way to control or change any of the preset experience. It pans and zooms as it wishes, with no ability to alter it, so one can't choose where in the photo they want it to pan or zoom to, and it randomly applies the panning and zooming. I couldn't find any options to change any of it. I guess it's back to the learning curve on HitFilm or another package. Glad I didn't chuck out the money for Adobe Lightroom software before trying it.

  9. When choosing stroke border or background colour, if you first click and hold the colour picker inside the colour box, you can then – continue holding – drag the colour picker outside the box and onto the image from where you can pick a particular colour by hovering over it, and letting go. This can be useful if you want to artistically reflect an actual colour from the image in the border or background or, indeed, title font colour…

  10. TEXT OVERLAY you skipped over this, which is funny as it was the whole reason for me searching and finding your tutorial. I found out how though! At the bottom of the image bar you click on ABC and it brings up a text overlay input which gets appended to the image in the same way as IDENTITY PLATE and WATERMARK
