Raspberry Pi handheld Poco
Engadget’s Sean Buckly wrote about a new Indiegogo project called Poco Supercomputer. Poco, a credit-card-sized device based on a Raspberry Pi chipset, can be used as an action camera, a hi-res music player, a recorder, and a gaming console!
It has an ultra-sharp 2.8 inch IPC touchscreen, USB and HDMI ports, and two joysticks that include center push switches. You can download and play Raspberry Pi games on it such as Minecraft as well as classics such as Quake. Check out the Indiegogo project for more information and some images showing the device.
Tip: also check out the Polycade Retro Home Arcade, a new Kickstarter campaign.

Pick of the week: Games on GitHub
While researching some game news, I came across the following on GitHub: “A list of popular/awesome videos games, add-ons, maps, etc. hosted on GitHub. Any genre. Any platform. Any engine.”
Below is a list of open source games and game-related projects that can be found on GitHub—old school text adventures, educational games, 8-bit platform games, browser-based games, indie games, GameJam projects, add-ons/maps/hacks/plugins for commercial games, libraries, frameworks, engines, you name it.
Explore, and have fun!
New games out for Linux
Mayan Death Robots
Mayan Death Robots by Soedesco, has been released on Steam for Linux. Linux Game News has the full report on this release: “giant killer alien robots have come to earth to make a TV show, wake up the gods, and fight off Spanish conquistadors—ingredients guaranteed to deliver spectacular results every time.”
Duke it out with massive alien robots during the peak of the Mayan civilization. Nuke, zap, implode, incinerate, and destroy your friends in single player or local multiplayer. Win the adoration of your tiny Mayan tribesmen, and keep an eye out for Mayan Gods who will try to crash your party.
ROOT
What better title than ROOT for a game released for Linux! Made by Digital Tribe Games and Friend Enterprises, ROOT has been made available on Steam.
ROOT is a cyber espionage themed stealth FPS that lets you play it how you want: whether creeping along corridors undetected or bursting into rooms to blow away all adversaries. Cyber terrorism is a dangerous profession, and risks have real consequences.
