  1. On Mac version the custom library is at risk of being deleted when updating because it’s automatically created within the program. I can’t speak for Win version but it looks to be the same. Not sure about how the Win version upgrade process treats this directory. But on the Mac version it is absolutely, unquestionably going to be deleted because of the "drag Blender to applications folder" install/upgrade method. If you remember to dig into the Blender package and retrieve the library before you do this you will be able to put into the new version the same way. Trying to figure out how to set a custom path for the use added libraries. Correct me if I am wrong.

  2. thank you so much, this is invaluable! I always wanted a custom library to choose my materials cooked up inside Blender itself instead of trying to append from somewhere everytime.
I know this might be asking too much lol, but sometime in the future, would there be a possibility for thumbnail previews for the materials before applying, something like what Substance Painter has. I think the Kit Ops, DecalMachine, BlenderCloud addons all have that feature, so it'd be amazing to have that on this too. Plus all those cycles material freebies, whew, this just made my day!
