Maya 2016 Extension 1: 3D Type

Code Canyon

A brand new text tool in Maya 2016 extension 1 makes it easier than ever to create branding, flying logos, title sequences, and other projects that require text. 3D Type allows artists to create easily editable, non-destructive, multi-line, deformable type. With full control over the way it looks, including precise control over bevel and extrusion profiles, the new 3D Type tool allows artists to animate by character, word, or line. autode.sk/Maya2016

The animation feature of Type could be improved… you can't apply animation channels on a per letter basis, only give all letters the same animation with an offset.

Its all good and dandy, but it is sad that the old text tool is completely replaced, especially when the Type tool is having difficulties with the bevel extrude. And that it cannot output nurbs etc..
