I am in maya 2018 now. but once this is created can you export this and render in another program? Like KeyShot?

hi mike , how to export spline data from maya? i have plane about fur with NEOFUR(UE4) plug-in but. it's hard to understand what export data about spline.could you know ? cuz im doing everthing . but it's not appear what i check Draw splines in UE4.super thx and have a nice day.
Im trying to create a tail and the hair on its head do I have to select the specific faces where the hair should be created?
What is the difference between "fur" (the fur tab) and Xgen?
Whenever I combine meshes, all fur from fur tab (on one or some meshes) dissapears entirely. It looks strange and stretched if I reapply it on th combined mesh.
Why?
