  1. Hi Maya Guy! I've followed this tutorial with a bit of reading and have successfully made the mash work for some treads in Maya, although I am running into an issue when trying to export the animation/meshes and get them into Unity.

As soon as I use the Bake Instancer Tool and hit Bake Animation, my treads to and stick outwards, with the connectors facing towards the guide curve and not towards the next tread. The only thing the Bake Instancer mentions is that my Object rotations are not 0,0,0, even if I zero them and then freeze them.

So the end result is a tank tread that has treads floating parallel around the curve after baking

  2. Hi phil! just I have a problem with this method. Once I use the mash tool, the tread generates the copies of the original tread outside the nurb curve. and the tread pieces go in a different way. they do not stick to the nurb

  3. Impressive!
I don't know if you use Arnold Renderer, but I've been looking for an Arnold guide to render similar to Maya's Vector render (such as black lines where a polygon has hard edges, not just the plain wireframe rendering around all poly faces, and not a cell shader). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
