  1. Heya, thanks for the video! I've been unable to use U3's quad draw because it now overlays the surface and doesn't show clipping information. On a big convex surface like the head you can look from the side of a poly as a workaround, but this is impossible anywhere the model is convex, especially working on say rocks or gnarled trees. As you know the relationship between the low and high poly and the clipping is critical for baking. Is there any way around this without constantly entering and exiting quad draw? Thanks!

  2. Record video with bug of Quad Draw in Maya 2017 Update 3. Don`t create polygons with Tab (quad strips). Why AD team think that more better to use Quad Draw only with selected object or live mesh? Stipid idiots solution. Back to 2016.5 ver. All this work perfectly in old version.

  3. Quad draw sometimes creates a double face polygon and I can only detect it through using clean up… is this a known issue? I know some other colleagues that experienced the same problem since 2015 version. BTW love the tool and its improvements. My whish list has a sketch function just like 3Ds Max or 3D Coat and it will be perfect!

  4. When using quad draw on a live dense mesh from zbrush to move points and smooth it is laggy (not to an unusable level) but when turning on soft select (even with a soft select radius of 1) the lag is greatly reduced, is there a reason for this? Just interested to know if there is a calculation difference when using it… These videos are great by the way.

  5. maya UI is so old. it does need some update! it should be minimal. for example attribute editor shouldn't take that much space! it should be like 3ds Max control panel or Mudbox. Mudbox UI is so clear and easy to access and remember.

  6. I've been overjoyed at the improvements. My retopology workflow has moved completely into Maya. The surface approximation has made reworking problem areas so much easier.
