Hi Creators,

Every 3D model you see, chances are, it was UV mapped. Understanding how to UV map is key to make your models look realistic, stylized, or whatever vision you have and want them to become.

In this tutorial, we go over the theories of UV mapping, as well as planar mapping.

This is a multi-part tutorial, so keep an eye for more!

  1. when i tried planar projection, it keeps telling me "projection works only on planar faces" and then when i do get it to work, it makes the texture look really noisy and the planar guide thing is squashed in the middle…

  2. Hello, Monica, I was passing through watching your tutorial I will just comment on your tutorial as not many people releasing tutorials know how to speak these days, as every other word is Um Err Um Um Er … So annoying, So I would like to comment on your vocal abilities Not really sure why I was watching this because I have been UV Mapping for 5 years or more I do like the new Maya tools they are even better than Headus UV Layout, Nice Tutorial.
