Hi Creators,
In this video tutorial, we will go over how to create exterior lighting using Physical Sky in Arnold for Maya. Physical Sky is an excellent Arnold light that can be used to create quick lighting set up for your exterior environments or just make your models look great.
You can even make a time lapse with it! Let’s check it out.

Hello I want to use that sky dome light but render my image without arnold renderer. I would like to render with maya hardware 2.0 or maya software render but I render only a black scene. Why does that happens?
How powerful is your machine? Takes 1 second to get test render with such quality…
How to light environment with physical sun???
I'm currently creating a robot or something but I can't seem to do it properly using the physical sky and giving it a sunset effect
I feel like I made a discovery amazing content!
Hi! Thanks for the video! I saw both SkyDome and PhysicalSky videos and comprehended both well. I just don't know when to use one over the other… what are your suggestions? Can you help me out with this question? Again, thanks very much for the tutorial, I am loving the series!
do you know how to remove the black line at the horizont while looking through a high view camera?
Very good, thanks so much!
how can you get rid of the black that's under the horizon?
How the fuck do you only have 12k subs, You're better than my uni tutor
OLE TU! GRACIES BONICA!!
How to remove that black horizon on middle of skydomelight????
I've seen a lot maya tutorials channels (with lot of subscribers) who probably start teaching by ignoring the very basic elements' properties. But here this channel has taught me so much (not for the 1st time) from the scratch that I was unable to learn probably I'm not smart enough to pick everything on the way on my own! Thanks for clearing me up with "glass transparency" issue. You are really amazing!
thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's help me a lot………
Is there I can take the dark part out of the sky and just make the whole light blue?
Thank you so much!! Your tutorials are awesome!! 😀
Crear. Thanks
I find your tutorials really great. As someone who worked in the film industry and learned Maya all the way back in 2007, seeing some of the updated ways of working (and trying to remember my own workflow) is really appreciated.
Hi Monica Thank you for a great video. In what situations do you use Physical sky vs. Skydome light. And also I suppose Physical sky is easier to render, or?
Thankyou so much!!!
Hi there Monica. Video is usefull as always. Arnold on this video really reminds me keysot. Do You think that keyshot and Arnold are similar or one of them is better?
Very nice video. I love this system, it is so handy!
By the way, the attribute Sun size is also used to soften the shadows. The bigger the sun the softer the shadow and, of course, the smaller the sun the harder the shadows (pretty much like an area light).
