  1. Ok, Now after you finish from desgining the model, how could you program it ? I mean you give some function to it, such as talking to you, or you provide wish some inputs, which in turn give you an outputs. I am just looking for a program that I can design 3D animation such you have done, then I program it. in order to come out with a cretin of outputs.

  2. Maya is "workflow – centric". As you develop structured workflows in your modelling efforts in Maya, you will quickly begin to see how UN-complicated the menus actually are.
Maya is the industry leader for very good reasons. Structured workflows are just one of the many reasons.

  3. In Maya 2012, you must have the Polygon menu set selected in order to obtain the "Edit Mesh" button on the Main Menu Bar. Generally speaking : Any time you aren't able to find a particular menu item, always check your menu set selection to insure you are working with the correct menu elements. I hope this helps you in your endeavour to learn Maya 2012.

  4. im moving from blender to maya. but now, i'm just going to do all the modelling in blender. maya looks like a pain to model because you have to go to complicated menus to even find the extrude button, where in blender you would've done it on your keyboard. 🙁

  5. @RossHilyard I didn't before I watched a tutorial like this where someone showed me. This tutorial is for someone who may have never even modeled before, and needs to know what most of the tools do.

  6. @Gamer9273 use the numbers on your keyboard to change from wire to shaded view … im not sure which ones they are anymore … 1-3 was smoothing i think, and 4-6 wire, shaded and textured views …

  7. @MegaTrekant hey … thats probably cause u dont have the "keep faces together" option selected … youll find it under the extrude tool options … if its deselected, each face uses its own borders for the extrude and therefor youll end up with edges standing out between the faces …

  8. Hey, i got a problem and i hope you can help me solve it. whenever i select the upper faces of a cylinder ( the ones on the top ) and extrude them downwards, there are always one edge/ a really thin face left between each of the faces. This is really annoying 😛 Hope you can help me.
