In this tutorial I will show you how to create snow on objects modeled in Maya.
The methodology used in this tutorial is based on an original tutorial by Mr Park Jin Woo, a brilliant 3D Freelance artist.

Nice🙄🤔🔥
This is a very great tutorial. Thanks Mike.
nice tutorial..
thanks
Hi, great tutorials. I have done this in both Maya 2016 and 2018 and get the same result. I followed the example exactly just using a polygon cylinder as a test as I want to create a low poly xmas tree with snow. The result I get is a very large “meringue” effect and low poly look after a render. Nothing like yours.

is there a way to set an "initial state" like in Ncloth in order to create constant particles? for an image sequence batch render type thing
This is amazing! Thank you!
great
+1 subscriber . Thank you so much sir I have learned a lot for the couple of months now from you and would like to cheer your channel on for helping beginners like us. again, thank you sir
Could you use the mesh tools to adjust the snow?
It's good, but RIP tri count.
Hey Mike, Thanks for the tutorial. I am a beginner and I was wondering, won't that make the scene heavy?
Thank you so much
Really nice method! Thanks for sharing
Life saver
Hi Mike.
This is a great tutorial.
I followed it directly but unfortunately when I convert particles to polygons it just disappears. No polygons. 🙁 Do you know if this method works in Maya 2015 or if there is a setting I need to turn on? I looked up and I know to see the particles you turn on something in objects display but I want the polygon mesh. Thanks!
I always did neglect the render aspect of Maya. I've got a habit of just chucking my assets into a level editor but this is actually amazing! I'll be sure to use this in a future project. The image plane helps as well! Great tutorial.
jesus, this must really effect the render time.
As always , You are the best Mike.
Hey Mike, just here to say that you have helped me tons, I started learning animation/modeling ect around a month ago and as soon as I found this Channel I knew all my modeling questions would be over. This video about creating snow was the only this I was disappointed to not find when I first looked but now that it is here I have nothing to complain about. Thanks for everything and have a Merry Christmas.
Awesome tutorial, mike! Is there any chance you can model a lit candle with wax melting off, in a dark room? Much appreciated. 🙂
Mike ! BIG thanks !!!!!
Your tutorials are always a big 3D travel well explained and many model examples !!!!
