Is there a way to lower the glow intensity on the lighting? Great video, I didn't know Maya have that feature.
Hi,thanks for your great tutorial but how we can do it all over an object? For example imagine a body that lighting efect moving all around that.
I came here for a lightning tutorial, not a "MAYA basics lesson"
how can we get it to look like lighting in Arnold? I set up in Maya 2017 and it all looks matted .. Please assist Mike 🙂
I enjoyed your tutorial, However ,I am curious in how to animate it into word lighting if that makes sense. Like a word which is dynamic vibrating like lightning.
Thanks.
Have you figured out how to make this glow in Arnold? Maya Software and mental ray are pointless now. I've been working the past two weeks trying to figure out how to get the lightning to have a good glow effect with Arnold. I watched Arvid Schneider's videos. I've tried alSurface, surface shader, and mesh_light.
Hey Mike , awesome tutorial !! Is there a way to change the color of the lightning ?
This won't work, Everytime I do exactly just that it just give me two lines and that's it
Is there a way to animate the lightning in a forward path
I'm not able to enable Color Management. The tab it greyed out.
how to make perspective view from render view?
how do you reduce the lighting glow intensity?
Bookmarted xD sunday project xD
Hi, i have a problem, when i create the lightning it doesn't appear, it´s like invisible, do you know how can i solve that?
Is there a way that the lightning does not turn off the maya default light in the render?
Hi Mike, I'm here again with my usual weird error that nobody else has *sigh*. It's really discomforting lol. This time it's not really an error, but when I'm going to render this scene, I get just the two spheres and the lighting without the plane underneath. So the background is just pitch black except for the effect and the spheres. Why, Why, oh god why ahahah. Using mental ray it's better, it shows the reflection of the elettric effect, but it's just a small line, still the plane doesn't show up in its entirety like in your video.
What computer do you use?
nice!
My lightning produces a shadow, is there any way to turn it off? x3
Is there a way to get rid of all of the markings (Such as the ones that move it,etc.) without the render? because I'm trying to create a box with a sphere on top that shoots lightning but the box doesn't show up in the render.
Hey Mike. Great channel. How would one integrate this with live action footage??
Is there a way to do this within an object between faces?
How can I key frame it to start and stop? I want to have it begin and end in an animation, though I can't figure out what to manipulate.
Is there a way to make the lightning smaller? i'm trying to make sparks animation between pieces that are close together, but the method in the video keeps producing over sized lightning bolts for me.
Can you maybe tell me how I could change the color? Because I want to use this to maken a flickering light in yellow/white kind of color
What version of maya is this? I have 2009
I was looking for this. Thanks man.
Great, super straight forward…
