Join Matthew Doyle, Technical Games Specialist at Autodesk, as he gives an introduction to modeling and animating 3D characters using Maya LT.
He will demonstrate the workflow for moving the character into the popular Unity 3d Engine and give tips on getting the asset working in a real game environment.

Why not just use Maya? Why is there even a Maya LT. I get that LT was made for game developers but Maya can also be used for games. I don't see the point in having two different pieces of software other than Autodesk gets to make more money!
Draw the rest of the fucking owl
why you have cutted tsome part you should show all please make in another video
that's some dope sheeet.
Do you have a tutorial on special effects for fighting actions? Like claw swipes and such?
Toying around with the alpha gains can make it somewhat transparent altho the image plane dims easily
So when i press show and unclick the image plane box, the image just completely vanishes
how do i get it to be transparent?
Maya LT is still freaking expensive even for indies. Blender is the best for indies.
is that MAYA 2016
Loved it! But please make a full tutorial out of it, especially the modelling and texturing parts.
So the Human IK tool is only useful for retargeting, ik handles are enough for animation?
how to make side view
I am using Maya LT and must say it is very depressing that i can not use Python script. It feels like waste of money tbh.

Impressive video, you took a drawn sheet of your character design. And turned him into a 3D character with "rigging" through his whole design no-less. informative video, never mind the haters (where's their work by comparisons?). thumbs up!
very cool 🙂
pffffff 45 minutes my ass
Booooring…you waste 5 min to just put a box on his waste…I understand is a tutorial…but you should speed up a little your workflow….
Awesome !!! Thanks for the overview …Very informative ….
i miss maya…. fuck this blender crap….
cool thanks
Maya LT for gamedev?
Then surely Max is going to get killed or relegated to strict particle dev.
RIP.
can i import a model from Maya to Maya LT just for use the mocap in Maya LT ? and after that can i import the animation to maya again ?
*im sorry for my english
good night my friends, can you help me!
I need the material for animation, pictures, font and left picture, thank , good bye..
Hello Instructor – Very nice over view. Where can I find the complete tutorial to this model or full tutorial? You're displaying through these examples that's missing out there in tutorial on this very subject. What if we offered to pay for this full lessons no steps left out??? Is there a way to contact you?
I want to make an indie game and I have some questions. Didn't OpenGL deprecate quads? Should they be converted to trigs afterwards or something? What kind of deformations happen? What are the specific advantages of Maya LT over Blender3D for devs not using Unity?
Hello!!!!!! I am lookin fur someone who would Love for there games do be the best, I have EXPERIENCE!!!!!!- 😉
can any body give me the link of the blueprint please
Question! Is Maya LT JUST for making games? Or can I make animations for films with it too?
That looks so hard
Man I thought he was going to show how to model the whole character. I was following along and got quite annoyed when he just skipped to the end.
I can't see the "Select influence" option in Maya LT when reight clicking on the bone. (See 32:15) Do you know where I find it there?
How come I don't have the IK handle tool?
Actually it looks like I'm missing quite a lot of tools in my skeleton menu, I only have 5
Nice! VERY useful, for some of my video game projects 😉
Great Video
I'm using Maya and can't use the modeling toolkit. It shows up grey and won't let me click it. What's wrong?
Also every time I click on an object in edge or vertex mode it appears as a yellow to red gradient along the edges lines and vertices. This is making it very difficult for me to see what I'm doing.
Thanks.
Can I Do this in maya not maya LT
