A quick run through on how I add clothing geo to existing rigs using the CopySkinWeights tool.

Maya’s Copy Skin Weights function is a great tool to have for anyone looking to add accessories to existing rigs. The copy skin weights tool is also a much faster alternative than the wrap deformer.

Note: I tried to comment out the script as best as I could so that new comers who may be interested in scripting can better figure out what’s going on.

  2. can you create a script for creating a basic body rig setup ! i mean duplicate the actual joints setup which already been created or a script that create one or something like that…….. i dont know much about the scripts it would be great 🙂
