Very well explained, Cheers
Thanks for making it easy
ok this is same like book's index but HOW does mysql do the processing ??
I watch all of these with 1.25 x speed. Love it.
Hi +CalebTheVideoMaker2 thank you for making this video. However, all the explanations you've provided regarding index is very similar to each other. Can you explain how they are different? Better yet, can you use concrete examples to show the differences?
Here are some of my questions after watching the video:
1) What is the difference between Primary and Unique if both are expected to be unique and indexed by the database engine?
2) Why does it take longer to do insertion after indexing your data?
3) How does fulltext work? Yes, it's like a google search, but we don't really know how google search exactly works either. How much faster or slower is it compared to the other types of indexing that you've listed?
4) Does Fulltext need to be unique? Can I have multiple entries under fulltext with the same name?
5) What happens if I want to cross reference 2 tables with say a user's numeric ID? How can I implement that in terms of indexing/uniqueness?
eeeeehhhhwwww.. I feel uncomfortable when you write or erase something on the blackboard..:):) and it is hard to pay attention to…. Im not sure what that term in English…. that screetching sound…
Finally a good explanation on indexes. I've been struggling to understand these until I found your video. Keep it up.
Super….

Do you ever think "my school" when reading MySQL?
Really informative!!
happy to learn here…^^
Good info. You aren't slow. When learning anything web related bad material will make you not get it quickly due to unknown or misunderstood words or symbols or unexplained parts.
Great vid, thanks.
Keep it up dude!
Thanks for the vid
cool
Thanks Caleb. You're videos are very helpful. They're great for quick answers to things I'm not entirely clear on.
Also, I find your slightly awkward mannerisms absolutely adorable ^.^
