Seems like even the classic 3D Cursor is getting some love in Blender 2.8!

  1. I used to be able to move the 3D cursor around while still being able to select objects (left/right click). Now I have to click on the 3D icon on the tools menu on the left to be able to move it. What the heck? I move the cursor as often as I select objects. Now when I right click it pulls up an "object context menu" that I never use… Is there a way to make the right mouse click move the dang cursor?

  2. How do you select a group of objects and centre the pivot point of those objects so you can scale them up from the centre? In Maya you hit the insert key and you can transform the pivot point anywhere in the scene using 3d transforms.

  3. Woohoo thank you so much this makes life so much easier testing it out now and not having the best of luck but I'll try it some more before I ask any question or search the comments.

  4. This is a so heavy powerful coding…. I want to say thanks to blender community for making such an excellent free program like blender but blender game engine needs more improvements and I hope you make blender game engine more advanced than unreal engine and get the first place in the top game engines' list

  5. Was this really the problem with the 3D cursor? I really like "…yeah…and they are a little bit of a hassle to add each time…" The whole 3D cursor is a hassle! Microstation (which I don't like) has a similar functionality with the 3D cursor called AccuDraw. However, they've implemented it in a complementary way of existing methodologies for drawing, not build everything around it! Rhinoceros3D has nothing like it but has a comprehensive set of snapping options, all drawing functions give you options on how to draw shapes (3Point, center, 2Points etc…) which makes aligning thinks and making accurate drawing extremely easy! Please consider having each tool define the cursor in two steps and adding snapping options!

  6. Can some one explain the use of the 3d cursor? Its just seems like an overly complicated pivot point that I can do the same thing in other 3D packages much easier/quicker. Also why not just make the 3D cursor toggleable by holding down a key + the right mouse click? This would work alot better and gives the ability to use the default right mouse click for something much more useful like a context/ radial menu. Its a reason why all other 3D packages reserve the right click for some sort of menu. Never understood why Blender decided against it.
