Couple of flaws , bad autofocus and bad auto sound …… hmmm that's an understatement, you really are an optimist i must say ๐
The bad autoficus is been going on in your latest video's, also not so good light metering, maybe an user error
FYI, your Portable Power can charge a phone ~4x, not 200x.
I have the X30 and looking at getting an X50 or X70, is the X70 small enough for cabins? Also do you think 70 is ott and could easily do 1-2 day camp with x50? ๐

So, lemme see if I understand; the camera dedicated to video doesn't focus correctly or record sound well.

Are the flaws of X-T4 fixed by latest firmware upgrade, arenโt they? However, I did something very strange and purchased a Olympus E-M1 Mark 3 (I do a lot of macro, the XF80 is awesome, but a big clunky heavy beast in comparison to the M.Zuiko 60mm 2.8 macro, which also delivers an awesome image quality). Now I am questioning myself, why I didnโt do it earlier. Except for tracking AF it is the system doing all that what Fuji also does plus that what I am missing. It clearly demonstrates, that all inventions you find today in Fujiโs, Sonyโs etc. cameras have been invented by Olympus. Itโs such a pity they discontinued and outsourced the camera business. 7 stops IBIS, 7.5 stops in conjunction with M.Zuiko lenses having optical stabilisation. It has a tripod (up to 80 megapixel) and handheld (up to 50 Mpixel) HighRes mode (pixel shift), those modes also delivers clean and noiseless images even at ISO 6400 (max on that MFT system). And, and, and… However, nothing beats the H.265 mode of Fuji or Eterna in H.264 – except for Blackmagicdesign BMPCC4K (MFT also) and the Blackmagic raw format (you may edit this footage in DaVinci like still raw files in Capture One or so).

Hi Tom, I see you're using the Shimodo bag a bit nowadays and wondering what your thoughts are compared to using the Osprey exos. I imagine it's heavier and may be less suited for longer hikes?
Its always amusing to see young photographers going "back" to film, having come from film to digital myself 6 years ago. I must say though, it would be money better spent to shoot 4×5 field camera than medium format. Coming into digital from film was a learning curve, but much of what I did printing in the darkroom transfers well to Lightroom and Photoshop. It seems most who try to go the reversed path, seem to have difficulty getting film right. Exposure is the biggest stumbling block it seems.
What is the brand name of that solar panel power grid you had?
Is video from the X-T4 noticeably better than that from the X-T3? Do they have the same sensor and pretty much the same video capabilities?
How did you get all the film through airport security X-ray machine safely, especially on your way home before the film gets processed?
Hi Thomas, most of your photos are on a tripod,+ long exposure time.
why not have never tried Sigma Foveon sensors
for landscape photography?
In case you didnโt already know, when photographing a rainbow you should use a polarizer. It will bring out an amazing amount of vibrance in the colors that the camera (or your eyes for that matter) donโt see without a polarizer. I discovered that when I was getting pictures of an amazing looking rainbow that turned out flat and washed out in the camera. It looked so good to me because I was wearing polarized sunglasses.
Where is the donkey โ to carry all that gear ๐

My 26L Mindshift Backlight bag was technically too big for hand luggage on United Airlines last year!! I have the 50L Action X bag and wouldn't have even thought of trying to take it as a cabin bag….until now lol! Oh I agree about the Shimoda pouch. i have one for various bits and pieces and love it.
Funny. I just bought a Garmin Inreach. PLBs are fine but you cannot interact with rescuer giving information like how you are, what your problem is, which is your state and so on. Plus, battery is not rechargeable so every now and then you have to send it in to get a new battery. But, I surely agree these devices, also the ones subscription-based, for whoever find himself wandering around alone, are a priceless peace of mind. And happy you finally switched to Fuji, I feel it ๐
What I would like to see is a real behind the scenes of how you guys create your YouTube vlogs. A full step by step guide as to how you do it – showing how you plan the video, setting up the camera, editing the footage – particularly when you are alone.. I try to do them but it is painful setting up the camera, run back down the road, walk past, come back to get the camera, etc.. Is that truly the way you guys do them?

What's the jacket that you've got on?

Of course it makes the wind loud – thatโs it doing itโs job correctly. If you tell it to auto gain then when itโs quite and wind is the only noise it will boost the levels.
This guy could literally be Bear Grylls' twin brother
