This is PART 1 of a tutorial on painting in Photoshop CS6 for artists who are no yet familiar with the program. If you decide to paint this butterfly exactly the same, I ask that you please credit me and link to this tutorial anywhere that you post your finished painting online. =) Thank you!

  1. Definitely saving this tutorial as a starting point for using photoshop for painting, ive been meaning to do animals like wolves and foxes or dogs and stuff, but havnt been so knowledgeable with photoshop and i was very limited in MS paint(still did good there though),but after skimming the two parts and getting an idea of it,i feel this will be a great step to where i want to be,definitely going to take the time to watch them when i can,oh and in part that butterfly was magnificent 😀

  2. If you're not sure what size to choose. Remember a standard piece of paper in the US is 8.5 by 11. Use this as your guide. You can make a print at 8 x 10 in at 300 dpi and you'll be able to print and frame it cheaply.
