In this episode I show you my process to create a dynamic and interesting landscape photo.

Then using Lightroom, I retouch the photo to bring out the existing lights to bring it to its full potential.

  1. Interesting video.  I live in the Orlando area, and actually took some sunset shots about 200 yards north of the pier, but did not consider taking any shots at the pier.  Will have to get over there soon and do so – beautiful capture!

  2. Thank you! Thank you!  I cannot tell you how much I have learned from your video's!  Love the presets I purchased not too long ago!  I live just 15 min's south of Clearwater along the beach and have found so many wonderful places to shoot sunsets!  I have tended to shy aware from Clearwater because there are usually so many people in my shots…did you go during the week or a weekend as I am now inspired to go shoot the pier!

  3. Great tutorial, I need to use stars and survey mode more.  Planning on using your method going forward, it makes a lot of sense.

Would love to see how you manage your Lightroom folders and database.  Do you permanently delete your older non-picked images?  I have 26,000 pictures currently in Lightroom, and only 5000 or so have been picked and edited, I'm in the process of cleaning non keepers out.

Lightroom makes it pretty easy, I have to say.  What an amazing piece of software.

  4. Serge,  I sent you an email with a possible fix for your Lightroom – Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 interface sent from NIK as I was having the same problem and more!  The email is from pjhalfcat and I hope it helps.

  5. "There can be only one…" Made me actually LOL

Great tutorial Serge – still learning little things about Lightroom – that tip with the star ratings will speed up my selection and development process no end!

    Merci beaucoup!

  6. YES, SERGE RAMELLI! This is your greatest video up to date. This is what I felt most curious about: how you get your shots. I have learned tons and tons of post processing with you, but I never had the chance to get great shots as you do. Now I know a little bit more and i'll be paying more attention when photographing. Once again, I can't wait for december, when i'll buy some of your video classes. Don't you get tired of being the best?
