I learned about them in a weird way though. My grandpa wanted me to make a logo and the company that was making an emblem for him wanted it as a "vector image" and I was like… "waah?" but I was the only one with Adobe knowledge at all so I had to look it up and ended up getting Illustrator and learning how to use the pen tool. I didn't know that it was called a smart object on photoshop though. I just have this video bookmarked so I can come back to it and watch the entire thing to learn new things! Where did you get that image? A file on your computer? Drag and drop from where? It looked almost like it was already in photoshop. How did you get it there? I couldn't see where you dragged that from. I didn't see you open a file on your computer. I couldn't see what you did and I played it over and over.
