Photoshop CS6 Extended tutorial showing how to use the 3D functions to create 3D text and place it in perspective in an environment, adding light, shadows, reflections & bevels.

NOTE: If 3D doesn’t work or is greyed out: Not compatible with 32-bit operating systems. 3D is only available in Photoshop CS5 & 6 EXTENDED version, as well as versions CC and beyond. Windows XP does not support 3D. Some video cards may need to replaced. The graphics processor may need to be enabled.

  1. Maybe it's because it's CS6 as opposed to CS6 extended, but I couldn't even get past rotating the (single letter of) text with the rotate mode. Not to mention there is no tip here on how to shorten the depth of the letter or lighten the shadow. Will try another tutorial, instead.

  2. First of all, Amazing tutorial Marty. Quick question. Is there a way to choose a specific color of font and have it stay that color after the 3D extrusion? I need to use a very specific color when doing this, however, after I select the 3D extrusion option, I notice my colors change or fade to a lighter color. Thanks again in advance
