This is an independant project i did in 2010 for a trimester at QANTM collage melbourne. I used NO ANIMATION to create this clip. I built it using only Maya 2011 Dynamics, Ndynamics and Ncloth.

  4. I tried doing a rude goldberg one like this, took forever to render, I render using the H.264 Codecs, but since there's collision detection, ncloth, and emitters involved, rendering with the codecs still took hours.

  5. Thats a fair point. the castle was more of an easter egg than a feature. the dynamics of that werent part of my major project so i had to exclude that until the end. it was to simple and fun to work with not to include.

  6. Well the Dynamics system in Maya is HUGE!!! and relys on a basic knowledge of Physics. a quick hint tho if you are planning on doing a large scale project using only dynamics. Cache alot. Although you are basing the outcome on the physics and dynamics of the scene. Their are still alot of vaiables that will change the outcome of the sequence. caching will save it one piece at a time. it also saves you rerunning the dynamic very time (big time saver)

  7. Wow you did it better than I did…. My teacher didn't even teach me anything about ndynamics, or dynamics / ncloth (had to learn some about it, dont have the basics down, but I have a clear basic understanding of it)
