  1. Hey! I just wanted to say that I learned more from this video about using Blender than I learned in all the tutorials I've watched put together. I like how you assume that I have some idea of how the program works, and all the explaining you do is saying which keys are hotkeys for each action. And to top if off, I get to work along with you on a neat project. Actual tutorial vids are so slow and boring and include copious amounts of unnecessary information. Now, I may not necessarily agree with how you make the female body (although, I will admit it turns out nicely in the end), I can certainly appreciate your "follow along" style of teaching. I feel almost fluent about basic modeling of complex shapes like the human body after this video, whereas I couldn't even make a house before-hand. So, thank you very much for making this. You've started me well off on a journey to making beautiful 3D avatars.

  2. Great tutorial! First time I have made a female. I have a minor tip for the fingers (done hands many times in 3ds Max). When you start the first finger, do a slight rotation on the Z towards the thumb so your fingers go into more of a fan shape at the beginning. Of course, this doesn't matter too much because you can manipulate them later. Love you tutorials!!!!! Thank you so much!

  3. hey Alimayo, thanks for the tutorial, it was very informative. If it's not too much of a hassle, could provide a link to download this blend, as I keep messing up as soon as I start going into finer details, Thanks is advance

  4. Oh,and something I think you could do to make it deselecting vertices more practical is clicking again on the ones that shouldn´t be selected instead of pressing A and having to select all of them again. Sorry if I haven´t been clear,my english is not that good

  5. hey i'm a beginner on blender and i am stuck on something and need your help, what did you press to control your area of influence? I've tried all of the keys and nothing is working I would really appreciate your help. 8)

  6. right at 5:10 in this video the purple lines do not go through all of the neck. they are only in the individual piece. but your video shows them going through the whole neck area. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the time new to this!

  7. Wow!! This Tutorial is amazing! it took me about an hour and a half, and my finished product is just amazing! I'm using Blender Version 2.77 and all shortcuts worked perfectly, this tutorial was awesome thanks so much <3

  8. Hey, hoping to get a reply from you or someone else experienced in Blender. I'm having difficulty with the 'C' hotkey. It seems to select edges, and it ALWAYS selects edges nearby the 8 faces, no matter what I do. I simply cannot get it to select the 8 faces together without also getting other pieces, which makes it so I can't grab and pull those particular edges. Is there something I'm missing from it's functionality? Or some other tool I can use to make it easier?

  9. I have a little above average knowledge in blender and I really aprecciate the tutorial 😀
But I will start wtaching it tomorrow morning, just one question?
Is this a low poly model? Because I intend to make a Videogame(We are a 2-4 person team… only 2 of us look like we want to do something)

    Thanks in advance 🙂

  10. Thank you for the video it was very helpful! I do have a question, I started watching your how to make 3d clothing video when I copy off a section and try to manipulate it because the copied section was mirrored it doesnt allow me to properly grab and drag it. I'm using the "g" key to grag. Any advice?

  11. I love you so much for this video right now. Quick question tho; when you make a base mesh for a new character, and you have the entire look of the character planned out, would you add large clothing shapes to your base mesh? For example, if a character has large pauldrons (shoulder armor), would you say it's a good idea to add those in the creation of the base mesh?

  12. Hey ali thanks a lot for the video its perfect and helped so much. I'm just stuck on one part. The part when you say to smooth by pressing cntrl + 2. I don't have a key pad on my laptop so it doesn't work. I switched the input settings so that my number keys would work as the keypad does but it still doesn't work. Can someone please help me out? thanks
