Some of the Best Little Things About Canon Cameras

When it comes to mirrorless cameras, there are normally a few specifications and features that capture all the headlines — things like frame rates, sensor resolution, and autofocus. And while those are important, every camera comes with little features that might not capture those top headlines but that make a significant difference in your day-to-day usage. This interesting video discusses some of the best little features in Canon cameras.

Coming to you from Omar Gonzalez Photography, this great video discusses some of the best little features of the Canon EOS R5 (many of these can be found on other modern Canon mirrorless cameras). One of the features Gonzalez mentions that I am particularly fond of is the sensor dust protection mechanism, which simply closes the shutter whenever you turn the camera off or change lenses to prevent dust from making its way onto the sensor. With DSLRs, there was the mirror, but mirrorless cameras place the sensor right up front, where it is easy to gather debris. Canon isn’t the only manufacturer that does this, but it sure is a nice feature, and in the two years I have had Canon mirrorless cameras, I haven’t seen a single speck of dust. Check out the video above for Gonzalez’ full thoughts.
