It was so great to meet so many of you in Amsterdam for my first ever meet up and photo walk! I’m definitely inspired to do more of these in the future in various cities around the world.

As I mention in the video, it’s always great to just meet other like-minded individuals with a passion for creativity and exploring an urban environment. It’s also amazing how so many photographers can capture such varying shots of the same destination!

If you’d like me to arrange a photo walk in your home city, let me know in the comments and I’ll see if I can make it happen some day!

  1. Hey Joe
I am following you now for a few weeks. It is nice that you have been to Amsterdam . Personally I think that the center of Amsterdam is not really interesting to make good streetphoto’s. The area is much too touristic. When you ever will come back, go to Amsterdam west or east. Go to markets, parks. Go to places where you can meet the real citizens of Amsterdam. The pictures that I see are the same like you can find in the touristic advertisements for Amsterdam . Amsterdam gives more inspiration for streetphotography outside of the center. Rotterdam is really interesting for streetphoto’s. The center there gives a lot more inspiration. I hope you will come back and look for the new places in the city!!

  2. Love Joe's work but he is so Gay and hiding it from his partner and she hardly sees it because she mostly enjoys him as a best-friend. So sad that he can't just come out and be himself, probably has serious homophobic family members or financial implications if he does come out…Her parents on the other hand doesn't really care because far east Asians are racist and happy that she has a wide eyed partner. Also I could be wrong and this is just a mutual contract agreed by both which they both get their inheritance and travel the world.

  3. Hello Joe ! i really need the help , in you're opinion what do you think is the best camera ina range of let's say 1000 euros for low light photography in city and landscapes ? I really don't care about video so that's not a weight in my decision

  4. Hi, can I ask you about any freezing issue on XH1? I've got XT20 and I'd like to buy another body (XT2 or XH1) to use with my lenses. I'd like to get an XH1 (for better video capabilities) but I'm worried about the problem I mentioned. Suggestions o comments from you would be very much appreciated. Thanks a lot!

  5. Hi Joe, i have followed your videos for over 6 months! Love them! Thanks for constantly sharing videos with us. I am based in Hong Kong, and would love to join any photo walk/ meetup with you if you ever come visit! 🙂

  6. Hey Joe! First, I really love your work. I'm always looking forward to any new content you post 🙂

Second, I'm heavily leaning towards trading in my Sony A7III and my Sony lenses and invest in Fujifilm. In one of your videos about switching to Fujifilm you mentioned about usability and I couldn't agree more. Ever since owning the A7III (since release date), I've had times where I didn't want to go out and shoot with my new camera because of all the functions and settings (which I had gotten used to). I lost a bit of fun when I go out and shoot photographs. However, I tried out the X100f for a couple of weeks and WOW! I totally understand what you were preaching. Specs, bells and whistles are all fine and dandy but when it comes to my personal preferences I want a camera that's easy to use and a camera that just exhibits the fun in photography. I know I got suckered in to the latest and greatest. I have nothing against Sony. This A7III is a beast and it produces awesome stills and video but as I mentioned, I lost that fun.

So thanks Joe and I look forward to more of your future content. Cheers mate! 🙂

  7. Love how that first shot was in my regular coffe place in Rotterdam. You should definitely do some street shooting in rotterdam. A lot rawer and more interesting architecture then Amsterdam bru!

  8. Next time you should check out the noorderlicht café near the nsdm-werf – probably on of the nicest café in amsterdam i've visited. it's a free ferry ride over there and actually the nsdm-werf is also a nice place to check out. lots of artists and creative people work there.

  9. I`m living in Amsterdam, totally missed out on this photo walk thing. I guess i need to look at the instagram/Twitter feeds more often eh ? 🙂 Glad to see you had a good time though !

  10. Photo Walks, oh man, how cringeworthy. Fake people all trying to be fake friends with people they’re never going to see again, and acting stupid, singing, dancing, and pulling faces as soon as the camera is on them.
