In today’s Photoshop tutorial we’re going to create a clever text portrait effect where a passage of text bends and warps to form the contours of the subject’s face. This effect is particularly powerful when used to present famous speeches by depicting the orator with their own words. It could also be used to produce artwork of musicians and their song lyrics, writers and stories, poets and their poems, or any other popular figure who is remembered for their words. The process uses just a small selection of Photoshop’s tools, with the Displace filter and a clipping mask being the key ingredients to making the effect.

When applying Distort > Displace, the text is just moved up and left, does not wrap. Any ideas what goes wrong?
Hey there! Thank you for this video, it's great. I like to use PS and always looking for something interesting in it.
Just I have a question… I don't know why, by I followed your steps one by one, but somehow the text doesn't "wrap" around the shape of the face, like in yours..
Is it just me or does somebody else has the same issue?
This was great, I just watched yours plus another person showing the same technique. You provided the same result in half the time and made it so much easier. Good on your sir!
So simple and good looking

Lovely.. Just made myself a lovely John Lennon one
An informative tutorial. However, text looks incredible pixelated when too small despite having anti-alias on 'Crisp'. Is there any way to make the text more visible when smaller, thanks.
Hello sir I am from India.

Hey, does this work on Photoshop CS too?
Good but to fast
I'm not even planning on making something like this and I don't have Adobe Photoshop. What am I doing watching this at 1am.
Once again, top shit..
Great video tutorial and a big help. Thanks for your efforts.
The text protarat is very good. I suggest that you also give a link for the tutorial in Text since some of us are not able to follow the fast pace of your narration in the Video. Or give a summary of the tutorial in steps. Or you can insert the steps in super on the video.
