very helping video… thank you guru…
if you want to skip to the complete node editor click here –> 4:43
the first step didn't even work for me
Way too fast IMO. I also copied the tutorial exactly (took half an hour with pausing) and mine doesn't look half as good as that. You're skipping some steps.
a blender guru tutorial that's not 1 hour?
the black parts are popping out more. like its inverted. i failed
Is it better then to just use bump maps in stead on normal maps?
is it a bump or normal map node ? height map? which node did you use? what about the occlusion map
amazing
can you use some filter nodes and thereby use only one picture for both diffuse and displacement/normals?
lol. Beeta testers
Awesome video!
New normal maps are better than greyscald maps! They're more accurate, but they're harder to get/create
Thanks for that tutorial, a bit fast i agree, i didn't manage to obtain the same results as you but i guess it needs lots of practice.
Hey! I just wanted to say that you can do the normal map in Photoshop! If you want to do the normal map in PS then, open your image in Photoshop and go to Filter, then 3D, and click on Generate Normal Map… From there it will open a menu and you can pick your options!! I hope this helps!
I have an issue if someone could help 🙁 , i want to scale my plane up after adding the bump map and everything but then the texture looks too big so i repeat it using a mapping node but then all of my bump map and reflections stay as the original size of the image and not the new duplicated image using mapping node , please help how i can work around this
do bump, normal, reflection and displacement maps generally decease framerate a lot, if i were to put them in a game
Thanks , that's the most realistic floor I've ever come up with, Great tutorial.
my textures are showing black when rendered in cycles render
great video but u need to take more time explain everything you're doing, you went super fast over things that might be easy for someone that is a more seasoned blender user. But for beginners trying to learn the basics, you go way to quick.
use crazybump is more easy
That's great but how the fuck do you make a tiles set that can repeat with this "effect"?!?
Little tip for people who don't have there textures applying properly. Get an Texture Coordinate node, and link Generated to Vector, on all the Image Textures.
my computer can't even run with 20 subdivides, nvm 100!
My reflection map looks like metal, something like glossy and I don't know why
Something went wrong…what format must the pictures be?
Dude this tutorial is good but you go WAAAY too fast. Most people that search these tutorials out are novices, who are learning how to do this at home. Everything I know about Blender has been pieced together through disparate tutorials, so it would be nice if you'd approach the video with the assumption that I don't have any idea what you're doing. Some of the stuff is fine to skip; I'm assuming if you know about texturing, you'd know about how to navigate in the program. Fine, and tutorials that go over that stuff are annoying.
But Cycles Render? I've never used it before, and had no idea I needed to switch over to it. You're talking about just 'adding a sphere', well, okay, I've never used materials before, I've never made an object emit light, and you're blowing through these things so quickly I have to pause and go second-by-second to even have a chance to follow along. YOU might be a Blender Guru, but we are Blender novices! Are you making these for the general public, or industry professionals? Come on, now, learning should be more accessible than this.
I can't see the texture when I set it to rendered view. I swear I unwrapped the plane. what is the problem?
save as PNG to avoid noise. It's preferable to work with 16-bit over 8-bit images too.
making a movie and this is very helpful…THANK YOU
this doesn't work
Blender guru (or anyone els) id like help I Am trying to make my own games and i not only struggle with Making textures realistic in unreal engine because they come out blurry but i struggle with everything els! Modeling in blender'understanding unreal'trying to find a good sound program to make music and sounds for my games And so much more! Do you think you could do anything to help fix my problems?
Can anybody tell me how to "right click" as he does in 1:46 and opens right click menu?
My concrete became silver-like. Damn … XDD
This is awesome, very good and simple!
I´m working along with unity. do you know if there a way to export the material to unity and make it look like this?
thanks!
Andrew,
Thanks for this amazing tutorial! It was very helpful and I'm impressed with how much I've improved from this tutorial alone.
But I have a problem now
Whenever I go into Blender, and follow all of the steps (Cycles, all the correct nodes, etc), it always renders a smooth blank plane. I keep getting the error "Uninitialized Image 'Concrete11'.jpg from object plane" Can you help me? I'm really confused and don't know why this is happening.
I need help when I go in my PS and edit photo and save it when I go to blender to pull it up the photo don't show
I've lost about at 1:30
