Hi Jesus. In Windows, to fill a layer with colours from the colour picker, I can use CTRL + DEL for BG colour and ALT + DEL for FG colour – same as Mac
My God there has to be an easier way.

If you Contract the selection by 50 pixels before moving the signature, you don't need to nudge it into position.

The easiest way is just using color range when selecting subject ( especially in black& white image).
Your method is too complicated for beginners. IMHO
Um would it be more easier and quicker to use Adobe AI, trace the sig, then export as a png file with a transparent background.
