  1. you can also switch to the eye-dropper tool by pressing I. And you can zoom freely by holding Z and draging your mouse while left-clicking (useful if you're using a graphics tablet and you want to avoid the shortcuts requiring the mousewheel).

  2. Hey! You covered some useful and some useless things and u skipped one of probably most important things. Canvas size/bits/resolution. – at the end of video of course we can stop video, see the options as you export the file, but it's not how we should see it right ? 🙂 + don't know if you mentioned about saving with/without background, as some people could create files for Twitch for example, where it's preferable to create art without background.
Good art of course there is nothing I can say because I grew up on pegasus and all old consoles, you're doing great job there keep it man. Thumb is up!

  3. Hi Mort, I am new to pixel art and I found your videos very useful. However, would you recommend illustrator instead of photoshop? Also, what is the recommended canvas size to create a simplified cartoon character?

  4. Thank you so much for this cute video! I already knew all of this (expect surprisingly, I didn't know the spacebar drag thingy, even after years of using Photoshop!), but it was really nice to see a basic recap and have everything laid out so nicely. Inspires me to make some pixel art, even though I'm not an artist whatsoever! I just wish to get my creative juices flowing and I'm totally infatuated with pixel art. This video makes me want to pursue this further.

    Thank you. <3
