  1. Somebody really is building Miss Maier into a real cash cow. Unless this comes from a letter Miss Maier wrote herself, or a recording of Miss Maiers own declaration…. -which I don't believe she would have done either…. I feel this is sacrilege. -To put a narrative of words on a deceased person, written and spoken as if they were her own ("I")…. Miss Maier was a very private person, I would never be so arrogant as to claim she would talk like, or use my words as hers.. She is dead, unable to stand up and speak for herself anymore… This kind of video sets the stage for future financial rewards. -Yes, we're interested in her, -and perhaps the discoverer of her works is entitled to make some money (?) …. but this was a living breathing person…. Can their be any respect paid for the dead? Does one persons plight become someone else's entitlement just because they have gained it's possession in their hands??? Many people, living and dead have had possessions taken from them for use of financial gains and to exploit that person….(and are these really just things???) These photographs expose 🙂her great, God given, talent. -To claim your power over them in an exploitive manor… This feels to be more like a rape of sorts. A taking against someone's will…. The question should be asked here, "Would Miss Maier want someone putting their words in her mouth, to talk about the way she lived, and/or the person THEY THINK she was???" If I asked you, "Who do you believe me to be?" You may well give me an answer to which I totally disagree, and mostly, maybe I should not care (?), but if I'm dead…. and you speak ill of me…. I can not stand up to protest you. Perhaps there are many who say she's dead, it doesn't/shouldn't (?) matter what becomes of her character anymore…. I've said my peace, I believe it's wrong. The liberties taken here……. with a voice/words stuffed into a dead woman's mouth….. I just feel IT'S WRONG. We have lost respect, and the dignity of each others lives…. That to just take it from people "because we can"….. Is not right. I rant, I know, I'm sorry for that… -there are some lines in the sand people should never cross…. I believe.

  2. Hate that they are putting words into her mouth, they may be misrepresenting her.The story and the photos are interesting enough without the presumption of how she thought and spoke.

  3. dont u think its a problem that she never showed her work when she was alive? when it comes to being an "artist," i think u have to put urself out there to be judged and scrutinized for ur work. its like being a boxer who never steps in the ring and only hits the heavy bag. without stepping in a ring and actually fighting an opponent, r u really a boxer? i think Vivian has some great photos, but it bother me that she didnt believe in herself to put her work out and was only "discovered" after she passed.

  4. She was the real deal, like Van Gogh, prolific, uncertain, total genius, not seeking fame, but the need to create art, major kudos to John Maloof for uncovering her hidden treasure of the human experience, and to whom put this slideshow together, bloody fantastic!
