Get Photoshop Up and Running Smoothly Again! You’re working on your image and suddenly Photoshop starts to lag! The brush lags, the program runs very slow, it freezes from time to time. In that case, probably you might have filled up the memory of the program. Here’s how to make the software breathe again.

This fix is for situations where there is a lag due to a lot of lengthy work with tons of layers or actions/brush strokes etc. If the sluggishness or lag always had been there and is persistent, it is a different issue, probably something to do with the processor, RAM, Operating System, Disk Space, Photoshop version etc.

I hope this video helps you. Thank you for watching!

  1. Another solution can be an old fation trick. Go to EditPreferencesScratch disks and choose the disk drive that have more space for hiring buy Photoshop for processing…

Alternatively Go to EditPreferencesperformance and you can adjust the capacity that photoshop consuming in your computer (which is not recomended though)

  2. Dude! I have a high end pc! Simple brushing on PS 2018 lags as hell while at PS 2017 it's buttery smooth. Read this same thing on couple of threads that other users are facing with the latest version.😔😔😔😔
