JavaScript was first launched in May 23,1995.
JavaScript was earlier used for designing pop-ups, changing of pictures ,etc.
JavaScript can be used for creating Hybrid Apps.
JS can also be used for creating UI for websites.
JS can be used for website backend too.
So finally I conclude saying JavaScript is a language which can be used for mobile development, website,etc.

Node js is not framework it is a runtime for javascript.
