  1. I'm just starting to get into learning Blender having used as a hobby before Lightwave 3D occasionally, I just can't believe how incredible Blender is and the best part it being free. That's the truly amazing part, of course there will be people that say it can't do that or do this, but then it can do things others can't do. Also it's great to see Blender going from strength to strength whilst keeping it free for it's users.

I'm having more fun learning Blender than I did with Lightwave and others.

  2. loud voice "I know there are some sneaky Maya users in here sneaking around having a look at Blender, you know who you are" . "Get back to work and stop eyeballing Blender you filthy deserters ..nothing to see here" . whispering voice "by the way Blender you are looking pretty sexy these days baby, shhhh I will pop by later and have my way with you" . loud voice "Right come along Maya users back to work" cracks whip, moans can be heard as the mass of Maya users look back with envy and head back into the darkness of viewport 2.0, rain falling, despair on their tired wrinkled faces, pockets empty. One of the maya users see's a glinting stone on the floor, and sneakily picks it up. There's an inscription with a strange glow coming from the words. They read: The Bifrost is coming…The maya user hides the stone in his pocket, a trinket of hope. . .

  4. Holy shit. I can't believe I've never heard of this. I've been using blender since 2010 as a kid, and these are all things I have only ever dreamed about as an artist and game developer. My workflow is about to change SO MUCH. This video had me BEAMING with all the new possibilities!!!

  5. I know this isn't a simple question but.. since you say that 2.8 is 'easier', 'better', etc., this question may be worth asking as other comments in the past may no longer be valid?
For a complete newb, starting out, should I use Blender 2.8 or SFM?
    Thanks!

  6. Coming from c4d heard all the hype about 2.8 so im doing a couple of simpler projects in blender to test it out. Haven't used it much in the past and i'll say the first 2 minutes of this already has me like O_O this is a different animal than I remember! hype to give this a shot now
