There was a photographer in our school for our class pictures, he set his equipments like the umbrellas and flashes on the stage, and some of the students brought DSLR as well as me, and i figured out that those expensive equipment umbrellas things can be used with my camera and any other DSLR, we played with it and the photographer got mad lmfao

This is crap. You didn;t even know to set up the shot b4 putting on the "ND filter" also the whole point of off camera flash is not to fire the one on the camera, which flattens the image.

Another hack is to use a piece of black paper with a small cut-out shape to make all the lights in the back round of your photo become that shape.
Covering a sponge over your built-in microphone to stop wind noise. This really helps if your camera doesn't have a mic jack.

I got a free tripod from my mother's coworker that was missing a quick release plate. I priced them online, and decided that it would be better to make one. So I teamed up with my great uncle to make one out of a piece of aluminum and a 1/4'' by 20 screw. It worked fine until I decided to shoot large format film.
