  1. The 1st point is wrong, it's better to have a photo with more information and crop it later to fit your needs than to end up with an image which had no room to play with. And that's where the higher mega pixel cameras such as A7R4 does amazing job.

  2. Amazing video thank you. I love the tip about the eyes looking to the camera and being sharp. Creates a strong narrative with the mood of the model/shoot. Blessings and thanks you

  3. The challenge with composition is that virtually all the photos people hire me for are for posting on Instagram. I have to constantly be thinking about how a photo is going to get cropped. So I always have to end up leaving extra room around the subject to account for it. Cameras take photos in 4×6 but Instagram is 4×5. And, even though 4×5 is possible, most everyone posts as a square. So I always have to forget about perfect full 4×6 composition and think about what is going to fit in the square. Kind of annoying, but, have to give the customer what they want.

  4. Loving your photos man! Can you give me advice which is better buy for wedding photography / portraits, sony a7riii or canon eos mark iv? I'm only concerned about sony having "bad colour science" but I don't know if that is true.

  5. Many great tips and you reinforce them nicely by showing examples of both good and 'unhood'. Great technique. For me I found:
    – keeping the eyes in the top 3rd
    – multiple shots to help avoid blur
    – the impact of lens angle and how it impacts the viewers focus
    were the most impactful. thanks
