This week I experimented a bit more with Voronoi patterns. This timelapse covers the making of The Sphere Lamp. One of the three lamp designs I build in Maya. All of them have this characteristic look, they vary in form and light source. You can see the other two designs on Twitter!
The modeling was done with Autodesk Maya and Autodesk Meshmixer. For the creation of the structured mesh, I used the Voronoi Mesh Generator V2.0 by akashCGI – a simple and easy to use plugin. It’s really fun to work with it.
The rendering was done in Autodesk Maya.
