Which focal length should you get for street photography – 28mm, 35mm or 50mm? Is the 50mm classic for a reason? Is the 28mm too wide? Or is the 35mm the perfect street lens?

Sooooooo, after you go out shooting… what do you do with all of the photos?!?
Would be great to see what Kai does for storage and publishing
and here i am, trying to shoot street photography with my 18mm lens?
Wonderful video. So Kai is talking based on full frame ratio right?
35mm all the way.
result?
which lens should i get for the sony a7r ii?? please suggest the best! thank you
obviously I'm late for this video… I'm just wondering, how did you overcome the shyness we all feel when taking photos of random people in the streets? or did you ask them beforehand? I often feel nervous so I might just sneak up a shot or perhaps offer a smile but that's it
Interestingh Video Kai. Let me know if you decide to do some street photography in India. Will be happy to join.
How is it possible that after years of doing this photography thing you haven't taken a good photograph?
How?
It's like a natural talent of yours.
I know your a street photographer but what about for vlogging or just video in general? 28, 25 or 50?
I quite like the background music. Would you mind telling me what that is?
How about micro 3/4 cameras? which lens is the best for SP with M3/4?
More like this please. Cool music too.
28mm
If I'd like to shoot 50, on an APS-C – so do i get a 35 for crop compensation?
(I'm a noob to photography, so idk if i even said that right)
Hi , I'm from UK . I have the Nikon D7200 and use my trusty 35mm 1.8G lens. takes great shots every time
I was trembeling watching you handle your brilliant lenses on a beast of a dslr, without a strap or any grip or any sorts. :I please get something T T
are these all full frame? i have a aps-c camera. so I'm guessing if you like the 50mm, the 35mm would work for me to get the same effect. i don't want to get to close but not far.
sneaky crosswalk transition. so smooth <3 3:28
Come and visit Philippines and make me join in your travel and shoot.
4:40 theyre at ho street
Just subscribed because I enjoy hearing you talk haha
WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?!??!?!?!?!
could you do more videos on Street photography?
wich camera did kai use?
Just bought a 35mm and it's awesome.
At 5:26 that guy is also a canon lover
you dont get the same shot getting closer. dont lie to people.
Sometimes we like it tight, sometimes we like it abit wide
I absolutely love his humor !
great about finding you today!
Sub is safe!
I love 28mm…. a tad more versatile in my opinion…. that said- who could argue against a decent fast standard zoom as an all round street-shooter…!!
I'm thinking of getting a 70-200 f/4 L, and I was just wondering if it were possible to add a 1.4x or 2x extender to it and maintain autofocus?
Kai, out of this video question, what mm for good selfies? I have a A5000 sony.
I've got the Nikon 18-55 kit lens and used it on a recent trip. When I looked at the pictures I found I used mainly 18mm and 55mm. However the prime nearest would be 24mm on average so that's what I tried next which worked out well. The 24 is equal to a 35mm in full frame and that's the way I am going.
+Kai W a Canon sales person followed you to make sure you don't talk bad about it 😉 background at 5:24
Seriously? A Canon jacket at 5:24 in a review of focal lengths on a Canon body? Am I the only who saw that? 😀
I'm struggling to decide which combination of lenses to get for a Sony A7.
FE 28 f2, Zeiss 35 2.8, FE 50 1.8, Zeiss 55 1.8.
28 and 50? Or 35 and 55? I prefer 35 to 28 but I feel like if I get the 35 then it's too close to 50 plus I'd want the other Zeiss to compliment it instead of the cheap 50.
ur voice sounds rlly familiar
I prefer a 24..wider still. To each his own.
"If they don't look pleased that you've taken a shot, you just keep holding the camera up! You just pretend you're taking a picture of something behind them."
You've changed my life.
28 mm all day
i used just 35 for a long time then recently started using 28 and 50 with the 35. i used to think it was stupid to do so as you dont get a huge difference, but in reality it is. 35 popular these days? i think it has been popular for a very long time. nice video.
hmm what about for a crop sensor? 50 still looks good but can sometimes feel like a telescope on my 60D
