  10. Hello Tony !

    i use an ef-s 24mm f/2.8 stm plus with a canon eos m3 body, 75mm magnifying glass and an LED torchlight for my macro photography. It's cumbersome. and sometimes i drop either my magnifying glass or my flashlight.

    i would like to just hold the magnifying glass… love the halo light you added to the lens.

  12. Tony, does it make sense to use extensions with a macro lens? I bought both. lol For some reason, I am having trouble getting a clear shot filling the frame. I have a very good Macro Lens, A AF-S Micro Nikkor 105 mmm 1:2.8G ED. I'll just keep practicing and studying, but I'm not happy with my results 🙁 Thanks for your tutorials!

  29. All your tutorials are clear and concise. Not sure why you focused on the ring flash, other than it is less expensive, but the twin flash for macro that Canon makes is much nicer and less flat light. Have you used the twin? I think you'd like it better. You're pretty unimpressed with the ring flash light it would seem. What I have not done is taking a portrait with the twin flash. They do come off the ring, so theoretically you could have 2 off camera flashes with independent controls for a close headshot. Macro portrait work, the wave of the future? Likely not so much, but if anyone would know I guess I'd ask you.

    I have a sony dsc0hx300 trying to find something compatible that might work with this camera. Do not have a lot of money, just 100 or less. looking for a decent diopter

  41. Is it better to use the zoom button on the camera to get a close macro shot or is it better to move close to the subject to get that good macro shot? I always use my zoom button and I've noticed that I have issues with getting my camera to focus on the subject more.

  43. The old Fujifilm S5600 has the amazing ability to take super macro, zoom in and place the lens only 1cm from the subject! It is amazing! For macro with a bridge camera it is unbeatable. Check out some of my shots with this camera on flickr.com search for Stormlover2007. ?
