In this tutorial you’ll learn how to create a “Magic Mineral” as in a fantasy scene 🙂
From modeling, to advanced materials with Cycles, compositing and noise reduction tricks to clean up a little the final result. Enjoy!

My cylinder does not have 6 sides, it's a normal cylinder, what do I do?
Great tutorial! Very helpful tips on cycles render and the node editor!

Great introduction to shaders and nodes. Thank you for putting together this video 🙂
Damn this was very useful, I learned a lot. Especially in the compositing part.
just watched it today. the material and compositing was really fascinating.
it doesnt matter than English isnt your first language. I had no problems understanding you.

I had a problem with a scene I wanted to make and you covered it perfectly in this video. Thank you so much for making these! Not only helped me overcome my issue but I learned a lot of other things as well. Very recommended.

Thanks you
22:22 The texturing of the floor or ground is not working. It just stays the same.
Thank you, Oliver!!
Let's say I'm pretty familiar with modelling in blender and I want to learn material creation. Is this video a good starter? 😀
Thanks for the tutorial, it's interesting and i learn a lot 🙂
Good job, seriosly 🙂
28:26 For those of you who just want to skip right down to the material editing of the crystals.
Hello, i need some help : whatever i do my cristal still less luminecent than your… I don't know where is the problem but the render is ugly !
Good tutorial…a lot of vertices made my Blender crash a couple of times, I guess I made a bit lager the plane than advised and did a lot of duplicated crystals….even with 8GB of RAM and 2GB of swap on my rig I had a memory overflow…..
Great tuto!!!
What videocard did you have?)
Your English is amazing for a non-native speaker. You're very clear and easy to understand.
Thank you very much for this tutorial! Very very informational!
Im new to blender. This tut is very hard. But thanks. Great job
WooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOW! I love this tutorial!
Hey mate , i started working with blender recently, could you tell me if its good to follow step by step your tuts or more or less just watch em out and try to apply them after ? 🙂
wow
hi, i just followed your tutorial. it was amazing, and thanks a lot. but i can't find how to use these effects in actual renders, and i don't find any informations in that on the internet, can you help me with that? in advance, thanks
wow thanks you for this tuto, very nice tricks!!!!
Very good Tutorial. Thanks.
how can you change the settings for blender to use the GPU? thanks in advance! 🙂
I have tried everything I can think of but to no avail. How do you get your manipulator at the bottom of geometry? I see it at about 3:13 when your rotating the perimeter minerals. So it's like your rotating them from their bases. I know how to change it a little bit with Shift Ctrl Alt C, but that is not doing it.
I had a problem when I got to the compositor. Using the newest blender version 2.71, the render layers box doesn't seem to have a Normal output node. I got stuck there. I did get a pretty cool image though, and enjoyed the tut! Although I would like to finish it if you could help me figure out how to get a normal to connect the blur box to. Thanks!!
what graphics card were you using in this video?
EXELENTE AUNQUE HABLES EN INGLES! SE VE LAS TECLAS K APRIENTAS! 😀 GOOD!
