In this short tutorial I will show you how to create 3D printable files in Autodesk Maya and save them in the required STL format. I will also give you some tips on how to model suitable for 3D printing.

exported my model to stl and when i import this in new scene the same model enlarge like 10% or 100%, can you tell me why it is happening?
When u are exporting, i could notice that theres a several options in there, like DWG, ZPR files, but how do i enable those exporting options in maya ?
Very helpful as always. Thank you very much!
Help please. when i try to export it, it says:
// Error: line 0: Could not save file "/test.stl".
Even if I try to export a simple cube. plugin enabled, history deleted, no overlapping faces. im using maya every day and there is nothing wrong with my model. still getting the error.
For me .stl_dce export from Maya never actually creates any output. I.e. I give a file name and hit save and there is no save to be found there or anywhere else :S
This was super helpful as most of your videos keep up the good work😀

Hello, Mike! Thank you so much for the tutorials, first off–they've introduced me to a lot of things in Maya I didn't really know about 🙂
Second off, you mention fixing topology after a boolean operation in the video. This makes me wonder, how exactly you'd recommend going about doing that? To take it a bit farther, how would you keep topology clean in general? For example, during "advanced" hard surface modeling, where you want to/need to apply a smooth modifier. How would you balance adding the needed edge loops around edges without having them possibly mess up other things in the mesh?
If my question/request isn't clear, let me know!
Thanks!
Want to ask, how can I make selected edges of polygons, and selected curves, fat ?
So I can see them easy, cos, they are very thin, hard for work.
Can I make shortcut for 3D Viewport, instead of presing space bar with mouse ?
Thank you, and God bless you
