  1. Do note that this tutorial was done on the older 2.49b version of blender. If you are working on the latest versions of blender (2.5 and above) you must use this keyboard combination "Shift + Ctrl + Alt + C" to bring up the origin manipulation menu. This will only work in Object Mode.
Pressing Shfit+C will center your Cursor to (0,0,0) coordinates, next press the above combination and choose "Origin to 3D Cursor".You may also try to select the all vertices in Edit mode and move them to the side

  2. so the object your working with usually has a "pink dot" in the middle of it. somehow the pink dot in my object is way over to the side. will this have adverse effects when exporting it?..and if so how do i get it back to "center"?

  3. Check the mirror axis you are working on, the mirror modifier could be mirroring onto itself or on a different axis. You can watch my updated 'homburg' hat tutorial on my channel, the principles are the same.

  4. Hi, you might want to watch my other videos to get familiar with blender first. This tutorial is done on an older version of Blender (2.49b). I suggest you start by watching the Fedora Hat tutorial for 2.59. You might also want to visit BlenderCookie (google it) beginner videos to get familiar with Blender first. Cheers!

  5. @TheBByamashiro Do you mean creating new objects? When creating new objects, take note of where the cursor is, as every new object will be created at the location of the cursor. You can actually turn snapping on or off ; on the grid or an object sub-component (Vertices, Edges or Faces) by clicking on the Magnetic icon.

  6. @Weeliano Thank you , that was it , I had cut the cube in the wrong plane, therefore the modifier was rezzing , but inside the shape that was left. Great work with the tutorials, I have subscribed and look forward to using them

  7. I have just recently downloaded Blender and although I find your Tutorial fascinating, and even though I have followed it word for word, when I click to add Mirror modifier……… nothing happens.
have you any idea why please?

  8. @xXShaddowTXx Thanks for watching! You might want to watch my other tutorials on my channel. Perhaps the one on Modeling Walls, it will show you more on the Loop cut tool. The 2.59 version of the boat tutorial is a bit more advanced. Try watching the rest of my videos to get a good overview on what Blender can do, especially the newer 2.5 versions.
