I`ve looked all over for both wheel and tyre tutorials and I still find this one and the modelling car rims tut the most useful and easiest to follow even though it is an old version of Blender used in both. Would be nice to have updated tutorials though the same as you did with the Realistic Earth tut.
hello from 2017, futur Andrew says you did terrible in those tutorials past Andrew
OMGosh! xD Blender was that outdated only 3 years ago?! And I joined 2 years ago… Holy Smokes! Anyhow, good tut… Kind of xD Fortunately I was able to salvage the idea 😛
I'm so glad your tutorials have improved since then, along with blender as well. The old version of blender along with your less energetic speaking. You have improved a lot Andrew! 🙂

Do black and white normals still work in blender 2.7? I can't get any black and white textures to work in blender 2.7!
I used this technique sometimes, but this time my shadows get messed up, recalculating and marking edges doesn't work. I can still see the lines from the array and such. there's no smoothing, does anyone know a solution?
I dont know how to put the normals in blender 2.6, so im stuck at 8.55. Im able to project the texture onto the tire, but its got the white logos and everything on top. How do i make the texture dented into the tire?
im trying to curve a walkway…. when i apply a curve to it , it flipps my walkway sideways and refuses to curve it no matter which direction i choose…
HAY why are you me by da way nice job myself on getting 81,000 subs AWESOME myself keep it up
This is great, after many failed attempts I found your video. Thank you very much. Next time, instead of re-facing the cuts. Just face select around them and extrude. XD
a litle hard to get the final part in cycles.
how old is this video?
just google image 'Tyre blender texture'
