stop making that ntah sound with your tongue ahhh i want to watch but i can't /me dies
i think you need to go like this file–>project window–>new(there's a small button just beside the space for "current project")
Da! XD
ro? xD
I have Maya 2013, and I can't find New Project, only Set Project. Does each session start as a new project automatically? Also, how do I get rid of the white Output Window which starts separately to Maya?
thanks this is the only tutorial that has helped me
This has been the first video tutorial I've seen about Maya and I don't even have Maya installed yet in my PC. Understood perfectly. Thank you so much. ๐

Sadly I don't as I never actually read one specific to Maya , but if you search around the net you should find something worth while , like this maybe ? "Introducing Maya 2011 Dariush Derakhshani" on amazon , google about , you're sure to find something interesting , sorry I can't be of more help on this matter , good luck ! ๐
Is there a textbook you would suggest using for maya 2011 that I could use in my classroom?
We have the same name :3
I wish I could find classes to learn how to use Maya….
Over all, good tutorial.

Hey thanks man , glad it helped ! ๐
Life saver. Best maya beginner tutorial I've encountered so far
I figured out. Display —> UI Elements. Thanks for your help:)
See if you can reactivate it from the window and display tabs , that never happened to me so I don't really know how to help you , if those two tabs don't help you see if there's any slider you might of accidentally clicked and it went somewhere you can't see it , there are small thin lines with arrows on them on some "shelfs" , see if you accidentally turned one off ๐ , hope you sort it out and thank you for the comment !
Great video, I do have a problem. I lost the drop down menu (the one on the up left that change the menu bar when you choose something "animation, dynamics, etc)
Do you know how to get it back ???
@MercedesBenzS600LAMG Thanks man ! ๐
Welldone… I am also new to Maya after using 3DS MAX, and ALIAS,
So it's interesting to listen and work with you
Thanks man
Keep up
I will watch all your Videos and give you feedback
God bless you
@13xzanezanex13 Check the comments on that vid
@13xzanezanex13 Also this is pretty much the reason why alot of people prefer to put the objects together just by making them go through one another , saves alot of time , if your geometry doesn't match it usually involves alot of fiddling around with the topology wich can easily get very tedious and maybe even screw your project if you have a set number of polygons to work with for example , it's just not worth it so people rarely do it , it also makes later editing harder to work with…
@13xzanezanex13 If by border you mean the objects actually being connected ( like two pipes ) yes , you can , you can check that in my motorcycle tutorial , it basically involves the merging of two vertex points/edges , the problem with this though is the fact that the geometry on the two objects needs to be the same , for example you can't merge a surface/face with 4 edges with one that has 3 or 5 or whatever , the parts that you want to connect need to have the same number of polygons
@untoldkiller123 Yeah you did thank you aha sorry if i didn't explain things more clearly,i knew what i was going to say but when i came to look at the name of the folders…. I just lost all trace of thought aha Good video and again thank you ๐
@untoldkiller123 Think of it like this , it comes in handy to have everything organised , some files are automatically generated in those folders , some aren't , bottom line though it keeps everything organised , plus it makes it alot easier to move if you want to take your project on another PC/laptop , the fields filled will generate folders , the ones left blank will not generate anything , hope I answered your question :))
@untoldkiller123 Well , I'm not sure I follow but in a nutshell when you make and set a new project , all the files will be automatically stored in the folders that you create by typing in those fields ( more or less ) , let's take your project with the manga character for example , the main project file ( .mb ) will be saved in "Scenes" , but when you'll create a texture for it for example you can save it pretty much wherever you want , but it comes in handy to save it in the "Textures" folder
Hey sorry if you already said it but i am a beginner, When you start a new project it comes up with various things, like images scenes etc…. For every file you make lets say i am going to make a Manga character and put it in a folder, the project locations are they what you should add? Lol sorry hard to explain, with a manga character you need shading, textures etc so would i need to type it in? Again sorry if i am not being clear enough.
