I know its old, but you didnt say how to save it!
You are magician…👏👏
Hi, is this book still downloadable? Previous links are not working.
Compositor doesn't look rubbish man, it looks awesome, soon as I saw it I really wanted to figure it out hence I'm here. Thanks for the guide.
Andrew, is it possible to add compositor effects to animations or do I have to manipulate each image/frame? I would like to add some shine and glare to my animation and I think the compositor must be the way to go, but not sure if there is a simpler way to do this manipulation over many images. Thanks in advance for your awesome videos Andrew
how i apply this in animation?
sir you have any videos which are fully base on about nodes?
Why he keep deleting the viewer node
What is the difference between the compositor and the compositing ????
WHAT SORCERY IS THIS!
Is it just me or did I miss the most important part. How to open the compositor window?
I'm surprised that every one in the comments is a Blender user. Many of your videos have annoying troll comments.I hate them, but now it's so much better now with all of the commenters Blender artists. Good!
Me: I don't need a tutorial about the composer I have been using blender for over a year! Well my star wars models are downloading, might as well watch anyway
Andrew at 6:12: Ok, so we only want to effect this green man so first, we need to separate him from the rest of the scene
Me: you can do that 0_o

I know this is going to be a dumb question, but how do you view the final composition without the view node?
my god this is old
I went your site on the book but the link is broken.
I'm unable to get to the point where I have the Render Layers in the compositor, or am I miss understanding that the the Node Editor is the compositor ?? help
Thank you so much! That's helped me a lot!
I want this book
I'm using Linux mint and blender 2.77. Tried to render in blender render and cycles, still no image. Use alpha is clicked on and the environment is off. Hand stands while juggling going to fix the problem?
Hi Great tutorial. Can you make a tutorial about SP2Blend: Substance painter Shader. I this help a lot of Substance user to Render in Cycle.
Hey guys, I'm just putting my first steps in blender, so this will be a noob question. After rendering a scene, I have been playing a bit in the compositor. But now what? I would now like to save the result that I have. Do I really have to re-render everything or is there a more simple way? Sorry for this question, but all tutorials that I find about compositing end with the final editing in the compositor. Nobody is showing what they do next….
can I still get that book?
I was amazed that this was made without cycles
What happened to the book?? It says Error 404 not found. Please Fix!
Its so funny. 4 years ago I found Andrew on Blender Guru. At the time I JUST started Blender, and had next to NO idea what he was talking about this "compositor". I thought I could never learn it. Now (and a few years ago) I use the compositor all the time and this video is like super easy. I just want to give Andrew a HUGE thanks for helping me get started in Blender 😀
you have the best videos on blender, most other people really don't know how to teach and just ramble or talk about irrelevant stuff before getting to the point
If you use a world texture for lighting (like pro lighting: skies) is it possible to have layers with objects that have transparent backgrounds? (without the hdri rendered in too)
fabulous tutorial your tutorial is realy cool and great thank a lot to making these tutorial
Can I still get the book now? When I click the URL, it said the book does not exist. Could u give me a new address thank you
You are a real genius. I wish I could open your head and steal your brains.
thank you!
A food assembly line! An absolutely genius way to describe flow logic!
I love the Compositer, even if I have almost no clue what I'd doing. It's so flexible and your creativity/genius(or lucky tinkering in my case) is the limit!
3 years later, is there a way we can still purchase the book? I would absolutely love to learn the compositer inside and out and I love your tutorials so I think it would well worth the investment.
can the compositor be used to edit an animation scene?
I can't find the distort nodes !!!
So, I have a scene finished with all the node work already done, I don't know how to export the final result.
Hi, Andrew Price! Thank you simple for understanding tutorial! May i ask you? I'm on blender 2.74 and same steps as in video doesn't work. Im trying to duplicate process as in video. So, i have two render layers and Scene render layer can be blurred via compositing, and GreenMan just shows me X thing…. so no image at all. Please help.
Wow, amazing tutorial, yue are really clear!
Good Job
when i save the blender file and reopen it all my compositor nodes disapper! there is a way to prevent them to disappear? like the fake user in blender materials?
Is there a place to get these files to practice?
That was an incredible tutorial! It explained so much that I was unsure about.

Don't forget to change the link in the video description.
For everyone else, here is the new link:

I only watch the first three minutes, but… I'm guessing that Blender's compositor is similar to using adjustment layers in Photoshop. The compositor looks like a method of doing nondestructive editing.
Nice mic
im sure you explained it well, but im too easily confused to understand this shit. thats ducks soooo bad
You make soooo good tutorials!
WHOA, how did you take the cover of your book and make it look like a ripped up poster? (in your traffic light image)
