Hello, the .tex file, exported by MeshLab during your .u3d file generation, is a source file for LaTeX, a free, opensource and multiplatform pdf compiler (MiKTeX is the distribution for Windows OS, for example: https://miktex.org/download ). You can open the .tex file with a LaTeX editor, to read and modify it; the best one for LaTeX is TeXMaker (http://www.xm1math.net/texmaker/), I think, but you can use also any other text editor, like Sublime Text too. LaTeX, maybe by using its media9 package, will use the .tex file to call the .u3d file and finally export a .pdf file with your 3D object, without using Adobe Reader Pro, but only thanks to opensource software. 👌 😉

This can be accomplished using open source LAteX, all free software, if cumbersome.
Interesting. Seems simple enough actually. I don't know meshlab. Is it free like Blender?
PS: don't be so nervous.
